DESCRIPTION:
The Basic Risk Communication Workshop teaches the fundamentals of risk and crisis communications, and provides a tabletop exercise focused on public information that allows participants to apply their skills. It provides information on writing for the news media and when and how to organize a news conference, and defines the tools of effective public information.
AUDIENCE:
This training is useful for public information officers from health and other disciplines, employees who supervise public information officers, subject matter experts who provide news interviews and health incident command staff who work alongside the public information officer in an incident.Public Information Liason staff working PODs (Points of Dispensing) and other responders will also benefit from this training.
