Beach Conditions

The Broward County Health Department conducts an ongoing recreational beach water sampling program on a weekly basis. The purpose of this program is to determine the levels of Fecal coliform and Enterococci sp bacteria, the presence of which are considered indicators of potentially unhealthy recreational beach water conditions. These bacteria are associated with swimming-related gastroenteritis. One sample is taken each week.
